About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Odoo Functional SME to join ThinkTech for an initial 6-month term, with strong potential for extension.

This role is ideal for someone who lives at the intersection of business operations and ERP systems. You will act as the functional authority on Odoo—leading discovery, owning solution design, configuring modules, guiding clients through change, and ensuring solutions truly support real-world workflows.
You’ll work directly with clients, project managers, and developers to translate business needs into effective Odoo solutions and ensure high-quality, well-adopted implementations.

What You’ll Do


Functional Leadership & Solution Design

  • Lead functional discovery sessions to understand client processes, challenges, and goals.
  • Map business workflows and design Odoo solutions aligned to operational needs.
  • Own functional solution architecture across modules such as Sales, Inventory, Accounting, Manufacturing, HR, and more.
  • Recommend best-fit Odoo modules and configurations to support scalable operations.


Implementation & Configuration

  • Configure Odoo modules to align with client workflows and reporting needs.
  • Define functional specifications and collaborate closely with developers on custom features.
  • Oversee data migration strategy, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Support integrations with third-party systems (eCommerce, payment gateways, logistics, etc.).


Client Partnership & Enablement

  • Serve as a functional point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead system walkthroughs, solution reviews, and UAT sessions.
  • Deliver end-user training and create functional documentation and user guides.
  • Support post-go-live stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives.


Quality, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in project planning, scoping, and milestone tracking.
  • Ensure solutions are well-tested, usable, and aligned with business outcomes.
  • Maintain documentation on configurations, workflows, and client requirements.
  • Stay current on Odoo releases and features, advising on upgrades and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications


Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing Odoo in a functional or techno-functional capacity.
  • Proven experience leading business process analysis and ERP solution design.
  • Strong background in client-facing ERP projects from discovery through post-go-live support.
  • Experience supporting data migration, integrations, and UAT.


Functional & Technical Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of core Odoo modules and business workflows.
  • Strong configuration expertise and comfort translating requirements into functional specs.
  • Working knowledge of data structures, imports/exports, and ERP testing practices.
  • General understanding of Odoo development concepts (to collaborate effectively with developers).


Soft Skills

  • Excellent communicator who can bridge technical systems and business users.
  • Strong problem-solver with a process-improvement mindset.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Client-focused, relationship-driven, and comfortable leading discussions and workshops.


Education

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
